TrueCite was founded in early 2026 after a frustrating observation: the brands showing up in ChatGPT and Perplexity answers weren't necessarily the best products. They were the ones with the right content structure — FAQ schema, structured answers, llms.txt, and citations on the right third-party platforms.
B2B buyers were shifting their research to AI assistants. Most brands had no idea what their AI visibility score was, let alone how to improve it. The SEO tools they relied on were built for Google — not ChatGPT. So we built TrueCite.
We shipped the first version in six weeks. The feedback was immediate: founders, marketers, and agencies wanted to know their MentionShare score, understand why AI was skipping them, and get the exact content to fix it. We have been shipping new features every week since.
